Untamed Floral Design evolved
organically over decades.
I’m Katie, the owner and lead designer.
I grew up in Southern California and, when my nose wasn’t buried in a book, I spent my childhood camping and hiking along the gorgeous California coastline and exploring rich landscapes across the country.
 

As a young college graduate, I stumbled into law school – what else does one do with a degree in philosophy? – and went on to have a rewarding career as a trial and civil rights litigator, adjunct law professor, and appellate attorney. But being inside only heightened my love of the outdoors, and I devoted much of my free time to exploring floral education and design, filling my home and office with ever more elaborate and unusual arrangements.

 

Over time, I began crafting florals for celebrations through word–of–mouth referrals and have now been flowering events and weddings for almost 20 years. Few things bring me more joy than a bride’s tearful delight at her bouquet, or the gasps of awe as guests first glimpse the completed floral design. So, in 2021– at the urging of clients, friends, and family – I chose to indulge my inner artist and  devoted myself full–time to floral design.
I have never looked back.
